Canada's Very Site Dedicated to Product Life Cycle Management

When I first started the idea of Lean PLM, I felt very excited as it exactly reflected my vision on how PLM practice should be run.

This time when I joined this big global roll-out project for a PLM system, the slogan for the entire company is Fast and Lean Exellence, to my surprise.

"Lean" is not a new idea and many people are practicing it. But some are better off than others. PLM itself is a set of management theories and practices on how to develop and market a product effectively with reduced cost. Lean PLM adds another level of requirements to it: more effective and more efficient.

The other day we were discussing how to do things effectively. The Chinese guy said he would get it done regardless how he will do it. The German lady said No, it has to be done in a right way.

I am not sure if a "Lean" way has ever been associated with the "right" way. If not, I would add this element into the "Lean" category as being right the first time is the best "Lean" way.

I am interested in knowing any tools, practices or methods that can help product development companies to reduce waste and cost via doing things in a RIGHT way, not just any way.
